HCS Earns Digie Award at 2015 IBcon Show
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Hepta Control Systems earned a 2015 Digie Award in the Most Intelligent Specialty Building category for their work on the Quicken Loans Data Center project at the IBcon show in San Antonio Tuesday night. The honor is HCS’ second Digie Award in as many years, after their Bedrock Real Estate Services Portfolio project won in the Most Intelligent Office Portfolio category in 2014.
With buildings from around the world nominated for the award, the Quicken Loans Data Center edged out fellow finalists including Levi’s Stadium in San Franciso, and Barcelona, Spain’s El Prat Airport.
“We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to play a role in this amazing facility,” said HCS President and CEO Ted Houck. “We knew this was going to be a really tough category with a couple of amazing project, but we’re so proud that this project earned a well-deserved honor.
“We knew the Quicken Loans Data Center was a special project from day one, and this award is a great reflection on our relationship with all of the contractors, managers and workers who worked together to create one of the most intelligent buildings in the world in Downtown Detroit,” Houck added.
The Quicken Loans Data Center represented a new challenge for Hepta Control Systems, as they were involved in the new construction project from its earliest development. Whereas the bulk of HCS’ Detroit projects have involved legacy systems in landmark facilities, HCS had the opportunity to implement an intelligent building system design from the ground up.
The fully-integrated facility also represents the first major project by HCS’ software development team, with its customized Data Center Infrastructure Management application.
